Be brave enough like Sebastian Castro

I want to be brave enough like Sebastian Castro.  I've managed to be subtle about my sexuality. But when one person knows about you, it is prone for other people to know about you unknowingly. You would know it by surprise when they outright wanted confirmation from you.  It is like a seed is being planted to grow a grapevine when you tell a person about something, in my case, my sexuality. And that is what I have experienced. Just this morning, a friend who is a blogger asked me about my real sexuality after hearing from another friend. He couldn't fathom when he heard about it from that friend and was even disgusted for hearing something slanderous about me. He couldn't imagine, he said. And so he wanted to confirm it. And I did tell hm to confirm. As for his reaction, it's priceless. There's no hint of a gay bone on me as he said. I am glad that people tend to be more open to you after knowing about the real you and I am also getting comfortable reve...

Rustom Padilla's transformation to BB Gandanghari: A stunt to prolong his fame

Image
I still remember when I was 11 when I had a calendar on the wall with pictures of celebrities under contract with Viva. Sharon Cuneta was the biggest star of Viva Films at that time. Next to her was Rustom Padilla, the younger brother of Robin Padilla. It would have been Robin Padilla but the Philippines' celebrated bad boy was spending his time in jail.  Rustom Padilla was a big star during the 1990's. I still remember my titas giggling whenever they got a glimpse of Rustom. Rustom and Carmina's love team at that time was very popular. Their beautiful looks which are eerily almost the same attributed their hit love team during the early to mid 1990's until their secret marriage. Rustom was the male fantasy of the 90's aside from Aga Muhlach and Richard Gomez. They were the three leading men of that decade with Rustom the biggest matinee idol of Viva Films while Richard Gomez and Aga Muchlach alternated between Star Cinema and Regal Films.

Sebastian Castro's Bubble (music video)

Image
Sebastian Castro made a music video a few days before his coming out. This is the video that pushed people to speculate about him and his sexuality. The music video of Bubble is daring, raunchy yet beautifully-edited, more so when you have beautiful boys dancing with the beat in their undies. The first time I watched this video, it was hell of a NSFW. Thank God, I am not in a corporate rat race anymore. I could watch the video in my room and in my home office without someone trying to sneak in. I've watched it many times that I became somewhat addicted to it. Bubble has the quality that can be addictive especially to guys (and even girls) who like to watch good-looking and muscular boys dancing in their undies. There are things I am impressed about the Bubble that I have put them on a list. 1. I like the color that dominates the whole video. The yellow-orangey color is sexy, taking the fact that orange is a sexy color.  2. The editing is really professionally d...

Rihanna performs Diamonds at Victoria's Secrets Fashion Show

Image
Diamonds of Rihanna is one of my fave songs on my Android's playlist. But this fave thing started when I saw a video of Rihanna's performance during the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show in 2012. And from the fave craze, I came to know other Victoria's Secret Angels aside from Tyra Banks, Heide Klum and Giselle Bundchen, who are all not anymore part of the VSA 2012 show. Adriana Lima and Alessandra Ambrosio are the fronts of Victoria's Secret Angels as they have been in VS far longer than other Angels. Behati Prinsloo, the girlfriend of Adam Levine, opened the segment of this VSF show called Dangerous Liaisons. Other models include the Chinese model Sui He, Lily Donaldson and Lindsay Ellingson. Miranda Kerr came in pink. Doutzen Kroes closed this segment as she strutted the catwalk hand-in-hand briefly with Rihanna. The straight side of me still likes to watch these Angels in their undies walking on the runway. I come to wonder that being straight-ac...

From Chaster to Sebster: Charice to Sebastian Castro

Image
Back in 2006 when  I first heard about Charice Pempengco in Little Big Star, I knew that the girl with a big voice would make it big. And yes it happened, with the help of social media. I think the same would happen with Sebastian Castro who made social media as his platform for fame. I am an advocate of social media. Although I am deeply closeted, I know the right talent that is worth promoting. I knew Adele would be a big star in 2011 with Rolling in the Deep. But 3 years before her big fame, her Chasing Pavements became my favorite. Gotye shot to fame with the help of social media and I think the rendition of other artists of Gotye's "Somebody I used to know" on YouTube helped propel the success of the Australian male artist. These people I know are big in show business with the exception of Sebastian Castro who has still started to shine.

The push to be back and Sebastian Castro

Image
I became dormant in this blog for several months now.  Although I am active in social media, I wanted to keep this other part of my life on dormant stage because... There are many reasons and one of which is that I am still in the closet. But lately, I have a kind of obsession with Sebastian Castro. I just learned about this lad yesterday when I saw his coming out video and now I am hooked. I learned about him when a blogger friend made a status about him. I knew nothing about him until yesterday.  Sebastian Castro looked Filipino but he does not have a Filipino blood. He is a Peruvian-Japanese with American nationality. And the fact that I am hooked with him is that he is a brave, aspiring actor who came out even before he reached the peak of his career in Philippine show business. He is an actor as he told in one of his interviews. But his involvement in Philippine show business has just started. But I could say he did well with his "Bubble" v...

Sebastian Castro comes out, reveals gay in social media

Image
Social media is the platform Sebastian Castro used to come out his sexual orientation. Unlike other celebrities who made a big public announcement about their sexuality in show-biz oriented talk shows on TV, magazines and in awards nights, Sebastian Castro turned to social media to reveal what he truly is. "I am gay," Sebastian told the queens of Becky Nights including Divine Lee and I think many were surprised about the announcement although these gays already knew of that fact even before the big reveal. He is known to be open with his sexuality in gay community in the Philippines, but not to all of his social media followers numbering in thousands on Twitter, Instagram, Facebook and YouTube. He is cute, bubbly and gay. These are the qualities that many closeted gay Pinoys are hoping for a celebrity to be a role model. The irony of this is that Sebastian Castro is not even Filipino. Though he now resides in the Philippines and calls the country his home (...

Sebastian Castro reveals he's gay, made a big hit with 'Bubbles'

Image
Sebastian Castro, a Peruvian-Japanese with American nationality, reveals he is gay. A social media personality, he uses the social networks such as Youtube and Twitter to come out from the closet. "I am gay. I am proud to be gay." Cliched statements in coming out but what he did was still sweet and honest, nonetheless. The 5'8" hunk, who graced the cover and pages of Cosmopolitan magazines, told his followers of his true sexuality. He is more popular in the Philippines as a twitterlebrity, one of the 69 Cosmo hunks in 2011 and now a budding musician. Originally an artist, Sebastian Castro painted for clients including celebrities. His artistic abilities extended to show business where he admitted being an actor during his interview on Becky Nights, a podcast show where Sebastian used it as a platform to come out. He's got Hollywood dream and aspired to be a Hollywood actor. But then turn of events impacted different decisions of his life. He rea...
