Thai Series,Together With Me, Showcases Legendary Gay Love Scene

Thai Boys Love series, Together with me, has done what other Asian BL series have failed to do. The directors and producers have probably listened to the concerns of BL audience, whose main sentiment is the lack of passion of M2M romantic couples who are also the leads in the series. When I mean the lack of passion, it means the lack of kissing parts. Some BL series are even devoid of that scene, making the watchers and audience think that they have been fooled.

Lately, watching Boy's Love (BL) series has been a pastime. But when I have come to observe the number of reach and audience of this kind of industry, I even think that there's a good potential for producers to capitalize this industry. The marketing side of me has seen the opportunity that this kind of industry brings in thanks to social media.

The fans can go crazy watching 2 boys being intimate with each other. Others dismiss it as something bromantic but then there are many now who are hoping that these couples, though both males, are in real-life relationship off-cam.  Since they've both portrayed gay coupling in series, there's a possibility that they can be real-life couples despite them being males, notwithstanding their orientation.

Okay, many really think that most actors in BL series are straight. I can't really tell that for certain because of the fluidity of sexuality and the inherent lies in the showbiz industry, compelling actors to say things that are far from the truth or at least concealing part or the whole truth. Some actors would like to be ambiguous; hence, pushing fans to speculate their sexuality and continue fawning over them.

Now, in the case of Together with Me the series, the main leads portrayed by Tul Pakorn Thanasrivanitchai as "Knock" and Max Nattapol Diloknawarit as "Korn" have been brave enough to showcase a love scene, which can be shown on Thai TV and online for global audience. And here I thought that the kissing scene of Thitipoom Techaapaikhun and Watthanasetsiri Pirapat, portraying Apo and Waii, respectively is the hottest in Thai BL.

GayOK Bangkook, another Thai series, has more provocative scenes. But I can't really consider it as Boy's Love series. I can place it in the category of HBO's Looking geared towards a more mature gay audience. But in BL, whose market is composed of overwhelming (and surprisingly) mostly female, the taste is more on romance as if they just watch the gushing storyline of K-dramas but only this time, it's between two male leads.

Watching the teaser of Together With Me months before the first airing already gave me the glimpse of what to expect. But then watching the trailer weeks ago proved to be more surprising than ever. The producers, directors and the actors have really notched up in portraying gay relationships on-screen.

Yes, it's still BL. But given the positions of the characters, who are in college, the storyline is targeted towards young adults or are just in their teens but have the desire to experience things in university including exploring their sexuality.

Another thing to point out is that it is a romantic comedy. What I like about this Thai romantic series is that its sound effects are funny. You can point the punchlines in certain scenes when they're accompanied with horse sound effect or the usual hammer-banging effect.  Some may find it annoying and probably, will get discouraged. But then, I have come to understand that this is a romantic comedy and that it is possible for any farce to happen and incorporated in the scenes.

So back with the love scene, I can't help but admire the actors Max and Tul for the wonderful scene. They really know how to kiss. They might have rehearsed that part many times before the final shooting for them to be able to convince me of that passionate moment. Again, they really know how to kiss sans the awkwardness you can feel and see in BL actors when that specific part is shown.

I commend the directors, producers, actors and also the novelist who have done great justice in making Together With Me a legendary BL series from Asia.

If you haven't watched the part yet, then you better check out the this video below now...
